Today, the foundation proudly boasts a dedicated force of over 200 active volunteers spread across the state. Their shared vision is simple yet profound – to spread love and compassion, touching the lives of those in need.

Noteworthy Endeavours:

On August 15th, 2018, in celebration of India’s 72nd year of independence, students from Chandigarh spearheaded a generous initiative. They distributed summer clothing, footwear, and essential food items to the underprivileged and orphaned in areas around Post Graduate Institute (PGI) junction, Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT), and several other locations within Chandigarh. This act of kindness was the seed that would grow into something truly remarkable.

Winter Donation Drive-1:

In December 2019, a transformative statewide mission began – the “Winter Donation Drive-1,” with the motto “one cloth, one smile.” This initiative aimed to provide support to laborers and the general public living in rural villages, while also promoting the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle. This pioneering effort not only distinguished NCF but also became an annual event on the calendar.

In January 2020, the collected items were distributed across more than 15 rural villages under Thrizino and Buragaon Circle, benefiting over two thousand individuals. The inspiration for this clothing drive stemmed from CEO NCF Somi Parisow’s school days. He recalled that during winter, there were no warm clothes available. Therefore, the hostel nuns at St. Xavier’s School in Palizi would share leftover warm clothes with the less fortunate students who commuted from home as the Day-scholars. This experience of having warm clothes during winter prompted NCF to initiate the Winter Clothing Drive in December 2019.

Nilvo Khata Abhiyan, September 2021:

In West Kameng, rural communities have long grappled with the absence of accessible banking services. This absence, spanning across generations, has not only hindered the progress of students but has also left the elderly in remote areas devoid of government benefits contingent upon bank accounts. In these far-flung regions, the elderly, too, have felt the impact of this banking void.

Furthermore, the challenge is compounded by inadequate connectivity and unreliable network coverage, further isolating these rural areas from the advantages of modern financial services. Recognizing the urgency of the matter, the Department of Education, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, issued a crucial notification mandating that every student should have an active bank account by September 30, 2021.

In response to this imperative, the Nilvo Charity Foundation (NCF) stepped up to collaborate with the department, worked tirelessly to facilitate the process of opening bank accounts for students. CEO of NCF, Somi Parisow, affirmed, “We stand alongside the department, committed to alleviating their efforts in ensuring that every student has the opportunity to open a bank account.”

This concerted effort marks a significant stride towards financial inclusivity, promising a brighter future for the rural communities of West Kameng.

Here, they distributed warm clothing and essential supplies to the deserving communities of Rayuk, Langdang, Bangte, Bangchi, and Yaglung. Swatch Bharat Mission – Clean Green Lepang Futu Project, 15th January 2022

In an organized endeavor to enhance the cleanliness and greenery of Bhalukpong and Tippi, NCF has taken charge of the Swatch Bharat Mission. This project was assigned by the General Administration of Bhalukpong.

Previously, NCF had made repeated efforts to engage in community service in the areas of Bhalukpong and Tippi. However, sustaining cleanliness was a challenge due to the lack of like-minded individuals. As a result, the NGO decided to partner with the General Administration. Since then, the Nilvo Charity Fund has been working closely with the GA, committing to this cause for a period of five years.

Conclusion:

The Nilvo Charity Foundation’s odyssey is a vivid testament to the extraordinary potential unlocked by unity and empathy. Each endeavor unfurls a mosaic of transformed lives, weaving threads of warmth and renewed hope throughout the fabric of Arunachal Pradesh. With unyielding determination, NCF embodies the very essence of altruism, reminding us that, together, we possess the alchemical power to reshape the world. Their narrative serves as a guiding light, illuminating the way toward a more radiant, inclusive future.
